Liminal Design strive to provide
the most cost effective and flexible design solutions. This
page outlines the terms and conditions between your business
and Liminal Design.
Design Process
Our design process varies depending on the size of the project,
but we usually try to break a project down into four stages:
Stage 1 - Briefing and initial development.
This involves establishing the key requirements of the brief
and developing the initial ideas. For websites we work with
you to establish the right navigation plan in relation to SEO
keywords and develop homepage concepts.
Stage 2 - Design development.
This involves taking the chosen design direction and developing
it further, usually into a full mock-up or if its a website,
several drill-down pages or templates.
Stage 3 - Design production.
Taking the design and working up a first working draft with
all final text and images. It is imperative that all text and
images are supplied before stage 3 to ensure that additional
costs are not incurred.
Stage 4 - Post-production
Finalise minor changes and updates, work all files up to print
ready artwork and sign off the design for print. For websites,
we would again make the final amends and then sign the site
off to go live.
Payment Terms
We feel that the best way to manage a project is in stages,
so depending on the size and length of a project, we invoice
work at the end of each stage. In some cases where there is
a fixed plan and launch date, we invoice a job monthly in arrears.
For new clients, we reserve the right to ask for a20% deposit
prior to the job commencing. This is only applicable for the
first project, further work would be invoiced as outlined above.
Print Design
For projects that include the buying in of print services,
we charge a 15% markup cost. This is standard practice, and
covers the administration and additional risks involved.
We do also offer a service where we can source print and other
prices, and the client pays the printers or other supplier
directly for their service. Some suppliers will ask for the
full amount payable before the products or services are released,
but Liminal would only charge an administration cost for sourcing
these prices.
Website Design
For websites that are CMS or E-commerce based, the input of
text, images and products are not included in the costing.
Liminal will provide the relevant training to the client to
ensure they have the ability to do update content.
Hosting is not included and in circumstances where we recommend
a service, it is the clients responsibility to ensure that
these suppliers are right for them. Liminal take no responsibility
for how suppliers act or the services they offer.
If you wish, Liminal can manage your hosting and invoice you
annually for domain registration and website hosting. This
can be particularly helpful in fixing issues as we already
have a relationship with the technical help teams we deal with.
If we supply a client with passwords or FTP information, it
is solely the clients responsibility to keep this information
safe and secure. Liminal do not accept responsibility for instances
where servers or information has been compromised from loss
or distribution of sensitive passwords and other information.
We never knowingly register domains for clients under our
own or a third parties name. We believe your domain is your
property and will always register new domains or transferred
domains under your companies ownership.
